Susan and Roddy have lived in and loved Le Bec Hellouin for over sixteen years and now invite you to join us either in the grounds of our 19th century farmhouse or in the "Dolls House" in the village.
Le Bec Hellouin has been a centre of monastic life since the 11th century and retains a wonderful spirit of place and is a great spot to unwind
It also boasts a good range of options for eating and drinking within the village and close by
If you would like to be more active on your holiday: there is a riding centre across the road from the main house, a 42km cycle path sets out from the village, there are plenty of walking routes. Within half an hour there are excellent golf courses, canoeing, swimming, tennis and fishing
There are also a number of chateaux with beautiful gardens within easy reach
The abbey itself is open for guided tours
The sea and the beautiful historic port of Honfleur is less than an hour away as are Etretat and Deauville
The Normandy Landing Beaches and the Bayeux Tapestry can all be visited on a day trip
A visit to Normandy usually means tasting our great cheeses (Livarot, Pont-Leveque, Neufchatel and, of course, Camembert) and sampling a little Cidre and Calvados and you can also make a tour of one of our local distilleries (and don't worry - we can arrange a pick-up).
